Springbank Palo Cortado Cask Matured 10 Year Old
In its second year, the Springbank Sherry Series introduces the Palo Cortado expression, a first-of-its-kind for Springbank. This unique whisky spent 6 years maturing in refill bourbon barrels before an additional 4 years in fresh Palo Cortado hogsheads made from American oak. Palo Cortado, a rare type of Sherry, undergoes both oxidative and biological aging processes, resulting in a full-bodied style comparable to Oloroso but with delicate, light nuttiness reminiscent of Amontillado.
For those fortunate enough to secure a bottle, this limited-edition release had a total outturn of 10,200 bottles. Distilled in July 2013 and bottled in September 2023, this expression maintains a standard 55.0% ABV. With its distinctive sherry profile and limited availability, this drop is set to be a prized possession for collectors and connoisseurs alike.
Hazelburn Oloroso Cask 15 Year Old
In addition to the Sherry Series excitement, Springbank Distillery has also unveiled a new 15 Year Old Hazelburn Oloroso cask expression.
