The Nikka Taketsuru blended malt range is named after the founder of the Nikka distillery. Among them, the 17-year-old expression was highly acclaimed but was unfortunately discontinued in 2020 due to unprecedented demand for Japanese whisky in the 21st century. This demand led to stock shortages even among the largest Japanese whisky companies. The Taketsuru 25 and 21-year-old expressions were also discontinued alongside the 17-year-old.
