The Hanyu Distillery, located in Hanyu City northwest of Tokyo, was originally a sake-making operation run by the Akuto family. Despite going out of business in 2000, its remaining stock is highly sought after. This particular bottle is a single cask, cask-strength malt distilled in a bourbon hogshead and finished in Japanese oak.
